Cake Courtesan Reopens Storefront Wednesday

The shop will be offering free mini cupcakes and a chance to win $200 off a custom cake in celebration of the reopening.

After being open by appointment since Jan. 1, The Cake Courtesan will reopen its storefront on Wednesday, once again selling cupcakes and other treats to walk-in patrons.

Head baker and cake designer Sharon White suffered severe tears to her meniscus that required knee surgery and necessitated closing the storefront and reducing workload for a period of time, according to business manager Stacie Cole.

White’s doctor recently gave her the all clear and the sisters are celebrating the shop's grand reopening Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., offering free mini cupcakes to anyone who stops in, while supplies last. They will also hold a raffle where one winner will receive a $200 credit to a custom Cake Courtesan cake.

The shop will also be selling its regular selection of cake truffles, cake pops and other confections, and offering a 15 percent discount on graduation orders placed Wednesday through April 30.

The Cake Courtesan is located in the Bowie Plaza shopping center at 6926 Laurel Bowie Rd. Cole and White opened the high-end cake store about a year ago. The pair operated Nostalgia Cupcakes for three years in Annapolis before closing shop and .
