Bites Nearby: The Barking Dog

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out.

If you're hoping to catch some NFL Football Sunday, a great place to go is The Barking Dog, which recently opened in College Park.

You might be thinking,"You want me to go watch football in a college town? Are you crazy?" No, I'm not guys. Last Sunday, I went over to The Barking Dog to meet up with the College Park Patch editor, for a quick chat and grub and it was nearly empty.

It's not that The Barking Dog isn't doing something right, it's because all the college students were over at Cornerstone watching the game and drink cheap beer.

The atmosphere is perfect for game watching with many TV screens and a speaker system tuned in on the biggest game during that time slot, whether the Baltimore Ravens or Washington Redskins.

The best thing about The Barking Dog is their great bar menu and their 16 draft beers.
