'The Hobbit’: Trailer, Show Times, Ticket Information

Before the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, there was another Unexpected Journey. Find Bowie showtimes and ticket information for "The Hobbit", which premieres just after midnight Friday.

Before Frodo and The Lord of the Rings trilogy, there was another epic tale from Middle Earth.

"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" opens Dec. 14 and it's not too soon to figure out when you'll watch.

According to IMDB.com, the movie follows the story of "a curious Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, (who) journeys to the Lonely Mountain with a vigorous group of Dwarves to reclaim a treasure stolen from them by the dragon Smaug."

The fantasy film based in a land of elves, wizards and hobbits starts just after midnight on Dec. 14.

The film debuts in 3D and 2D at Regal Bowie Cinema at 12:01 a.m. Friday. 

Tickets can be purchased on the show's website from Fandango for $15 for the 3D show and $11.50 for the 2D show.

Regular showtimes at Regal Bowie Cinema start Friday Dec. 14. You can catch the 3D version on Friday at 10:30 a.m, 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 5:15 p.m. 6:15 p.m., 7:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. 

Regular 2D shows will run on Friday at 11:30 a.m., 2:15 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m., 10:00 p.m. and 11:15 p.m.
