Mama Coca's Delights, Charis Center Partner for ArtsFest

The two old town Bowie institutions are partnering to host the event for a second year.

The Charis Center for the Arts and Mama Cocoa's Delights will be partnering for a second year to host old town Bowie's second ArtsFest, scheduled for April 13.

“Our inaugural year was extremely successful and we are excited to bring this event back again this year,” said Emma Hadley, executive director of the Charis Center, in a statement.

The rain-or-shine event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., starting in front of the Charis Center on 8th Street and following Chapel Avenue down to Mama Cocoa's Delights.

“We have theatre demonstrations and performances, a children’s chorus, several bands, and street Buskers to entrain the public while they peruse and shop for high quality art," Hadley said.

Hadley also said she is pleased to partner with Mama Cocoa's Delights proprietor Tamarra Thomas, winner of Food Network's Sweet Genius, for a second year.
