"Salute to America" Concert in Memory of 9/11

Update: Due to saturated ground conditions at Allen Pond Park and the threat of rain this weekend, the concert has been moved indoors to the Bowie Senior Center, 149000 Health Center Drive.

The City of Bowie will commemorate the anniversary of September 11, 2001, and honor those who died in the terrorist attacks with an evening of patriotic music in the Robert V. Setera Amphitheater at Allen Pond Park. Music will be provided by The U.S. Naval Academy Concert Band, while candles and flags will be distributed and the Mayor will make remarks and introduce dignitaries. The Bowie Volunteer Fire Department will also bring tower trucks 39 and 43, which were used by responders at the World Trade Center, to hang a large U.S. flag across the entrance to the park.
