Belair on the Civil War Homefront

Marylanders sent troops off to battle on each side of the Civil War.  Friends and families remaining at at home worked to ease the lives of those on the warfront by sending "care packages," food, letters and other gifts.  Funds were raised, goods and goodies made, at Sanitary Fairs in the North, and Soldiers Aid Fairs in the South.

Join the members of the Civil War civilian reeanctment group, The Atlantic Guard Soldiers Aid Society, at Belair Mansion as they plan relief for Maryland's Confederate soldiers far from home.  Discuss the recent battles, shortages caused by the war and concerns for friends and family with the "locals" of the 19th century!
