Auditions for Annapolis Shakespeare Company's COMEDY OF ERRORS

Annapolis Shakespeare Company is accepting submissions for young actors ages 13-25 for all roles for our summer production of Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors at the Bowie Playhouse in White Marsh Park. Auditions will be held by appointment only on May 7-9, 2012. The production will be directed by Sally Boyett-D'Angelo with Voice Coach, Nancy Krebs. The production will rehearse July 9-August 1, 2012. Performances will be held August 2-11, 2012. Actors must be available for the entire rehearsal and performance period. Those auditioning for principal roles should prepare two contrasting monologues from any of Shakespeare's works - at least one should be in verse.  Less experienced actors auditioning for ensemble roles should prepare a single monologue of their choosing.  The Annapolis Shakespeare Company is a teaching company. There is a workshop fee of $300 for student actors to cover the expenses of professional training with guest teaching artists during the rehearsal period. The workshop fee will be waived for advanced college students and in some cases a small stipend will be available. The Annapolis Shakespeare Company is a non-profit 501(c)3 theatre company with a mission to provide performing arts opportunities and education to youth and young adults in PG and Anne Arundel counties.  The company is a resident company of the Bowie Playhouse in White Marsh Park where they present three full-length productions by Shakespeare or other classics each season.  The company teaches a variety of classes at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts in Annapolis.
