Bowie Community Theatre Receives 9 Award Nominations

The nominations came from the Washington Area Theatre Community Honors (WATCH), which recognize artistic and technical excellence.

Two productions of the Bowie Community Theatre recently received a total of nine Washington Area Theatre Community Honors (WATCH) award nominations.

The announcement about the award nominations was made on Sunday night, according to John Nunemaker, president of the Bowie Community Theatre. WATCH presents the awards annually to recognize artistic and technical excellence in community theater.

"We are very proud and honored by these nominations," said Nunemaker in an email.

received five nominations:

  • Scott Beadle as “Earl 'Brother Boy' Ingram” for outstanding featured actor in a play
  • Bernadette Arvidson as “Juanita” for outstanding featured actress in a play
  • Joanne Bauer as “Sissy Hickey” for outstanding featured actress in a play
  • Scott Ross and Kaeti Bradley for outstanding hair design in a play
  • Scott Beadle for outstanding makeup design in a play

Grace and Glorie received four nominations:

  • Estelle Miller for outstanding direction of a play
  • Jo Black Sullivan as “Glorie” for outstanding lead actress in a play
  • Sandra Cox True as “Grace” for outstanding lead actress in a play
