Bowie Community Theatre Receives 3 Awards

The Washington Area Theatre Community Honors (WATCH) awards were announced Sunday as the theater group prepares for a new show opening on Friday at the Bowie Playhouse.

The Bowie Community Theatre received three Washington Area Theatre Community Honors (WATCH) awards Sunday night.

WATCH presents the awards annually to recognize artistic and technical excellence in community theater. The Bowie Community Theatre received nine award nominations for and Grace and Glorie.

  • Bernadette Arvidson as “Juanita” for outstanding featured actress in a play, Sordid Lives.
  • Scott Beadle for outstanding makeup design in a play, Sordid Lives.
  • Sandra Cox True as “Grace” for outstanding lead actress in a play, Grace and Glorie.

The newest production, Art, opens on Friday and runs through March 31. Tickets are $17 for adults; $12 for students and seniors ages 62 and older. Group rates are available. Call 301-805-0219 to reserve tickets.
