Santa Rides and Rides Again Throughout Bowie

Fire department seeks donations of canned goods during Santa's visit to your neighborhood.

For many years, Santa Claus has greeted Bowie children while riding on a Bowie volunteer fire department truck. This year is no exception. Below is the schedule of when he will stop by your neighborhood.

If Santa doesn't arrive on the scheduled night, it means either the weather was bad or there was a fire emergency. If that occurs, the fire department will visit on another evening.

Check the fire department’s website for adjustments to the schedule, if Santa doesn’t make it on the appointed day.

Firefighters will be collecting donations of canned goods for the Bowie Interfaith Pantry, the city’s major food bank. To donate, have your canned goods ready before Santa comes to your neighborhood.

Firefighters will stop and collect your donations at curbside when they see you at the end of your driveway. Last year, about 1,100 items were donated.

The fire department also requests that parents keep their children from climbing on the equipment.
