A glimmer in the eye of Bowie residents since 1999, the South Bowie Library is hosting its grand opening celebration on Oct. 25 at 2 p.m.
As Patch previously reported, the new facility, located at 15301 Hall Rd., will include and adult reading room, faux gas fire places, a snack room and vending machines, a computer lab, group study room and multiple workspaces and outlets for residents and their laptop computers.
According to the Prince George's County Memorial Library System website:
As of 10/9/12: The main lobby stairs are complete. The front tower window has been installed. The majority of the books have been shelved. The information and checkout desks have been installed.
The 45,000-square-foot, two-floor library sits on a 17-acre parcel of land on Central Avenue and Hall Road near the Collington Station and Devonshire Estates neighborhoods in south Bowie.
