2. SHORTCUT TO EUROPE

Where/When:  Saturday May 7, 10 am – 4 pm, European Union Embassies in Washington DC

Why Go: Visit 27 countries in less than six hours at the annual European Union Open House day.  The Open House day kicks off a full Europe Week of activities.

Pricing: Admission to all embassies is free, there may be food and drink available to purchase.  Be prepared for security checks.

 

3. THE KENTUCKY DERBY

Where/When:  Saturday, May 7, 12 pm – 6 pm, at Pimlico Race Course

Why Go: Watch the Kentucky Derby, or, as Pimlico calls it, the Final Preakness Prep, at Pimlico Race Course in the infield.  Great drink specials, live music by nationally known artists, the race on the big screen.

Pricing: $30.00 for admission and bottomless beer or soda mug. Available via ticketmaster.  

 

4. FOLLIES

Where/When:  May 7 – June 19, The Kennedy Center

Why Go: Catch Broadway, TV and Film star Bernadette Peters in this Stephen Sondheim classic.

Pricing: $45 - $150.00, online.

Where/When: Friday, May 6, 8:30 pm,
