Bowie Residents Unaffected by WSSC Emergency

Areas to the south of Bowie will be affected.

The thousands Bowie residents who get their water from the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission will be unaffected by Tuesday evening's planned water shutoff, according to officials.

WSSC has produced an interactive map which residents and customers can use to find out if they live or work in the affected area, which includes the Andrews Joint Service Base area, National Harbor, Temple Hills, Oxon Hill and others.

The shutoff is planned for Tuesday evening and could be off for as many as five days while WSSC works to repair a failing section 54-inch pipe. Mandatory water restrictions in impacted areas begin at 9 p.m. tonight
