Winter Storm Warning: 3 to 6 Inches of Snow Possible in Bowie Tuesday

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning effective from 3 a.m. Tuesday to 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Updated at 9:45 p.m. Monday: The National Weather Services has updated the weather advisory for Prince George's County to a winter storm warning with a total of three to six inches of snow expected.

The warning is in effect from 3 a.m. Tuesday until 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Snow and sleet are expected to begin at around 3 a.m. Tuesday, with accumulations of around half an inch.

There's a 100 percent chance of snow before noon Tuesday, beginning at daybreak, including during rush hour. High temperatures will reach around 32 degrees. Snow will be heavy at times, and may accumulate at rates of one to two inches per hour, according to NWS.

Original Story, 11 a.m. Monday: If Sunday's wintry weather wasn't enough for you, mother nature has a second round of weather in store for Prince George's County Tuesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Prince George's County from 3 a.m. Tuesday to 2 p.m. Tuesday, calling for a 100 percent chance of snow or sleet, with possible accumulations of three to five inches.

Highs Monday are expected to reach the low 40s, with more rain expected. Temperatures will drop to 31 degrees overnight, with a 30 percent chance of snow, though little to no accumulation is expected.

On Tuesday, snow and sleet are expected before noon, followed by a chance of snow between noon and 4 p.m. There's a 100 percent chance of snow or sleet Tuesday night, and temperatures will drop down into the mid 20s. Three to five inches of snow and sleet may accumulate.

Skies should be clear and sunny Wednesday, with highs around 37 degrees, though temps will plummet into the teens Wednesday night.
