DESCRIPTION:The skies over the National Capitol Region will ring with the
  sound  of freedom May 18 through 20 as the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstrati
 on  Squadron\, the Blue Angels\, celebrate 100 years of Marine Corps avi
 ation  at the 2012 Joint Service Open House here.\nFlying a fleet of Boe
 ing F/A-18 Hornets\, the Blue Angels will  headline the largest DOD air 
 show this year as they represent Navy and  Marine Corps aviation to the 
 United States and its Armed Forces to  America and other countries as in
 ternational ambassadors of good will.\nAlso performing will be the U.S. 
 Army&rsquo\;s premier parachute  demonstration team\, the Golden Knights
 . These professionals do their  best work at 12\,500 feet above the eart
 h&rsquo\;s surface. Also be sure not to  miss the premier fighter jet of
  the 21st century\, the F-SS Raptor! \nFriday\, May 18\, is reserved for
  DOD personnel\, school-sponsored  children and invited guests. The open
  house is open to the public May 19  and 20.\nIn addition to dozens of c
 urrent and  vintage military and civilian  aircraft on display and in th
 e skies\,  ground activities  will offer  something for the entire audie
 nce--from aircraft simulators  and  military displays to food and fun th
 roughout the flight line area.\nSpectators from the general public will 
 need to park at FedEx Field  or take Branch Avenue Metro in order go thr
 ough the appropriate security  screenings and be shuttled to the event.\
 nDuring the open house\, a  Joint Information Bureau will be assembled  
 in Hangar 4 with representatives from each branch of the military  avail
 able to answer questions and facilitate stories and photo  opportunities
 . In addition\, the JIB will provide credentials and media  kits.&nbsp\;
  Only media members with valid identification will be allowed  access to
  the JIB. Parking: Public is asked to park at FedEx Field or Branch  Ave
 nue Metro and go through security screenings. Free shuttle buses will  b
