Film: "Bag It: Is Your Life Too Plastic?"
South Bowie Library, 15301 Hall Rd, Bowie, MD | Get Directions »
FREE
This 78-minute award-winning film chronicles "everyman" Jeb Berrier, who embarks on a global tour to unravle the complexities of our plastic world and, closer to home, pledges to stop using plastic bags at the grocery store. The film examines our society's use and abuse of plastic and the harm it causes our environment and our health.
A post-film discussion will include Prince George's County Council member Ingrid Turner and Bowie City Councilman Isaac Trouth, who will summarize local efforts to reduce the use of disposable plastic and increase recycling. Laura Chamberlin, Program Manager of the Alice Ferguson Foundation's Trash-Free Potomac Watershed Initiative, will report on the experience in reducing plastic trash in other localities.
Sponsored by the Prince George's Sierra Club. For more information: martha.ainsworth@mdsierra.org or janis.oppelt@mdsierra.org. Admission is free. Space is limited.
