The City of Bowie’s 31st Annual Holiday House Decorating Contest is approaching! Brighten up for the holidays by entering your house, a friend’s, or neighbors. Prizes include 2 $100 Family Award Winners, 10 best of Bowie Awards (a White House tree ornament) and 10 spirit awards( A Belair Mansion tree ornament.)
The contest is free to enter and open to any resident within city limits who submits an entry form by the deadline. Entry forms are available, on the City’s website at www.cityofbowie.org and they may also be picked up at City Hall.
On the entry form, residents must select the appropriate category: Colonial, Religious or Traditional. Entry forms must be returned to City Hall by Monday, December 10, 2012 at 5:00 PM. Lights and decorations should be visible when judging takes place on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 6:00 to 11:00 PM. Those adults who are interested in being a judge are encouraged to contact City Hall.
All contest entrants are invited to a Holiday Awards Reception at City Hall on Monday, December 17, 2012 at 7:00 PM.

More About City of Bowie Gymnasium
The City of Bowie Gymnasium is a 27,000-square-foot athletic complex that houses two full-size and two intermediate-size basketball courts, two team rooms, a sitting room and a concession area. Teams and organizations from Bowie use the facility for practice purposes, and when they are not using it the gym is open for open play by gym members.
