Whitehall Elementary To Celebrate Achievements
Officials will attend a celebration Wednesday night at the Bowie school that was named a 2012 Maryland Blue Ribbon School Award.
Whitehall Elementary will host a "celebration of excellence" Wednesday night to recognize the recent achievements of students and staff.
Special guests will include Bonita Coleman-Potter, deputy superintendent, and Verjeana Jacobs, board of education chair, according to a release from Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS).
Whitehall Elementary received a 2012 Blue Ribbon School Award from the Maryland State Department of Education in January. The Bowie elementary school was one of six schools in the state to receive this year's award and the only public school in Prince George’s County.
Whitehall Elementary will compete this fall for a National Blue Ribbon Award from the U.S. Department of Education.
