What's Marcus Canty Doing Now?
Find out what's next for the young man from Bowie who was eliminated from "The X Factor."
While Patch hasn't caught up with singer Marcus Canty in Bowie yet, there are reports that he's been spotted around town and may perform at Prince George's Stadium this spring.
Canty, 20, was a finalist on The X Factor and was eliminated from the show on Dec. 15. He is reportedly back living in Bowie now.
According to The Washington Post, fans recently saw Canty at Bowie Town Center and the Bowie Baysox want Canty to sing the national anthem during opening day festivities at Prince George's Stadium on April 5.
The Washington Post reported that Canty's mother said he's still under contract with Front Line who must approve requests for performances before he can accept any new gigs. To read more about what Canty is doing now that he's home, see the full story.
Canty may not be the only one invited to sing at stadium since the Baysox hosted auditions last year for people to sing ”The Star-Spangled Banner." Although they haven't made any public announcements about auditions for the upcoming season, stay tuned to Patch for future opportunities.
The Baysox will open their 20th season at Prince George's Stadium on April 5 against the Harrisburg Senators at 7:05 p.m.
