Traffic Stop Leads to Cocaine Bust

David Alexander-August Crouse, 23, is facing charges of drug possession and intent to distribute.

Bowie police arrested three men following a traffic stop on Old Chapel Road, according to a police report.

Police received a report of an armed person near the 8500 block of Chestnut Avenue at around 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 23.

Once arriving in the area, officers witnessed a car matching the description of the vehicle associated with the armed person report running a stop sign on Old Chapel Road.

Police stopped the car and performed a search, recovering 12 grams of powder cocaine.

David Alexander-August Crouse, 23, of Bowie, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and with intent to distribute. Two other people were also arrested but information about possible charges against them has not yet been released.

Way to go!!! Congrats on ruining a young mans life that had nothing to do with the cocaine involved in the bust. This young man was driving these two drunk imbicles home from the bar so that his boss didn't feel obligated to. Now he is getting charged with a felony. As for the other men in the car, yes, they have priors. So yes let's keep slandering David's name and making his life continually worse.

I understand the arrest is "public knowledge" but no citizens are going around and snooping through arrest logs. Haven't you heard the term "innocent until proven guilty"? How would you feel if this was your son or daughter, caught in the wrong place at the wrong time? You are ruining his life by posting this. All you have to do is read the Bowie Patch to find lies and gossip. It is truly sad that they allow you to do this to people. It's not only unfair, but, it hurts chances at David getting jobs in the future. All a prospective employer has to do is Google his name to find an article full of mistruth. I'm begging you, Jenni, to please remove this article and stop writing articles of its kind. Innocent until proven guilty is the mantra of America's courts for a reason. You cannot continue to slander people's names and reputations just to get Facebook "likes" and blogpost views. If this was happening to me or my family, I would be going crazy. It's cruel, wrong and unjust. If you were wrongfully accused of something, would you want the Bowie Patch posting it & your full name all over the internet? I don't think so. I'm seriously disappointed in The Patch and you, especially, Jenni Pompi. I'd like you to think of this from a point of view other than your own. Please. :(

Waste of time and resources. Sickening example of drug prohibition in action. The drug war ruins lives. I bet this officer even went back home and had an alcoholic drinks (aka drug.). Hypocrite.

12 grams of blow is not a small amount and certainly not just for personal use, this could get very ugly for these people, was it all in one container or broken up into little packages ready for resale??? distributing is serious charge get good lawyers fellas.

I completely agree with Nicole and Erika's comments. Names should never be given when reporting what is "happening". Being arrested/charged is NOT the same as being proven guilty. Journalistic integrity please!!!!!
