Last week, a judge’s ruling made it significantly easier for Marylanders to obtain permits to carry concealed handguns, striking down a requirement that anyone applying to carry a handgun have a “good and substantial reason” to do so as unconstitutional.
Bowie firearms instructor Rick Stern told WJAL that business has been booming, but he has some concerns that unless some kind of mandatory training is added to the process of obtaining a concealed carry permit, the ruling could cause more harm than good in the state of Maryland.
"I don't think that it's appropriate that you buy a gun and nobody gives you any professional instruction," Stern told WJLA.
What do you think? Do you support the ruling making it easier to obtain a conceal and carry permit in Maryland?
Should an instructional class be required for anyone in the state of Maryland who wants to carry a concealed handgun?
