Prince George's Stadium Sustains $20K in Damages
The damages are expected to be repaired by mid-July.
Prince George’s Stadium sustained an estimated $20,000 worth of damages in the derecho that swept through Prince George's County on June 29, The Gazette reported.
Three tents on the stadium’s concourse were shredded and bent, and a portion of the outfield fence was contorted during the storm.
“It’s the most damage that we’ve had,” said Brian Shallcross, the team’s general manager since 2004, told The Gazette.
The damages to the home of the Bowie Baysox, which were mostly cosmetic, are expected to be repaired before the team’s next home stand on July 19.
