Power Outages Across Bowie Friday Evening
Residents were especially concerned because of the heat, and many stop lights on major roads were out.
Seemingly widespread power outages hit Bowie this evening amid another day of extreme heat, causing concern among residents and traffic problems across the city.
Annapolis Road between Laurel-Bowie Road and the intersection with Superior Lane had outages, as well as several lights along Laurel-Bowie Road.
Residents in several sections took to Facebook to voice their concerns, with elderly residents especially worried as the lack of power, also means they are without air conditioning.
By about 6:30 p.m., residents in the affected areas began reporting their power had come back on, and the street light outages also seemed to have been fixed.
Multiple calls to BGE were not returned by the time of publication.

We, too lost power around 5pm. It was still out @ 9:30 so we called in to BGE (again) and were told that our area had been restored! It did come back on by 11pm.
