Police Seek Bowie Appliance Thief

The suspect has been stealing new appliances from recently constructed homes across Prince George's County.

Police have released the photograph of a vehicle connected to the burglaries of at least 25 home construction sites in Bowie, Upper Marlboro, Capitol Heights and other areas of Prince George's County.

According to police, the suspect is stealing refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens, and other appliances from newly constructed homes between the hours of 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. The photos were taken at the most recent burglaries on March 11 at the 1700 block of Fernwood Drive in Capitol Heights.

Based on the image, police believe the vehicle is a 1998 Chevy Tahoe or Suburban with Maryland tag number 7AY000.

The thefts have resulted in an estimated $400,000 in damages and stolen goods, police said.

Anyone with information on the vehicles or the thefts should contact Prince George’s County Police at (301) 390-2160. Good hunting, BPD and PGPD.
Minor correction to the article. But that looks to be either a Suburban or a GMC Yukon XL; the longer wheel-base models. Hard to tell from the photo. But, the split rear door is relatively rare in either. And I don't think it was an option for the Tahoe.
