Police Incidents: Bowie Home Invasion, Assault

A home invasion was reported on Thursday morning, and two men from Bowie were arrested in separate incidents.

Feb. 23
Home invasion 

Prince George's County Police are still searching for suspects in a home invasion that occurred just before 6 a.m. Thursday in Bowie.

WUSA reported that the incident, which happened in the 12600 block of Henderson Chapel Lane, involved two masked gunmen who tied up three people and stole money and a car. The car, a gold Jaguar, was found unoccupied in Upper Marlboro on Friday morning, according to WUSA.

Feb. 21
First-degree assault

Bowie units responded to a gun complaint Tuesday night in the 4100 block of Nottaway Place.

John Fisher II, 27, allegedly threatened his mother with an empty shotgun and a large knife, according to a report from the Bowie Police Department.

Fisher reportedly punched and stabbed holes in the walls, but there were no injuries. He fled the scene before police arrived. The report states that police located Fisher and took him into custody without incident.

According to online court records, Fisher faces charges of first- and second-degree assault, destruction of property and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Feb. 16
Theft

Miguel Angel Cabrera, 35, of Bowie faces multiple charges in connection with a Feb. 16 incident in Calvert County, according to online court records.

Southern Maryland Online posted the Calvert County Sherriff's report that said Cabrera's vehicle was seen weaving on the roadway in the area of Maryland Route 4 just prior to Maryland Route 2 in Sunderland.

According to the report, Cabrera was apprehended and arrested in connection with an incident at a nearby 7-Eleven store.

Cabrera faces charges of theft less than $100, false statement to a police officer, fleeing and eluding, DUI, and multiple traffic violations, according to online court records.
