Around 5:37 a.m., police responded to a call of shots fired near West Bowie Village. Upon arrival, the officers found two victims wounded from gunfire, who were then transferred to a nearby hospital, said police spokesman Mike Rodrigeuz. One was later pronounced dead.

The identities of the victims have yet to be released while police continue their investigation.

Rodrigeuz initially described the suspect as a black male, 6'1, approximately 230 pounds.
