Mother Robbed of Purse on Path, Child in Tow
Two men robbed a woman of her purse when she was walking with her child on a bike path.
Just after 4 p.m. on April 29, Bowie Police responded to the intersection of Stonybrook Drive and Blackwell Lane after an armed robbery was reported.
The victim—a woman from Bowie—said she was walking with her baby on the path from Somerset Park back to Stonybrook when she was approached by two men. She said that one of the men implied that he had a knife and demanded she give him her purse.
She handed over the purse and was not injured in the incident. The men fled on foot back towards the park, and were not able to be found during an area canvass by police.

Glad they were not hurt, but what has happened to the Bowie of 10 years ago...so much violence....

Back 10 years ago or so there was much debate about the new mall and smaller dwelling units such as town houses and apartments. We warned that this type of zoning would bring violent crime. Well, here it is. Bowie has armed robbery, home invasions, you name it. We should be outraged this type of crime could occur in the afternoon no less. Against a mother walking her baby! I am a 50 plus yr old woman don't walk alone anymore. I am afraid. I was against all the development but we lost against the political machine. If I had money I would be gone now like so many others. We need crime
cameras and police on foot. Was the development worth it? I say no.

No we don't need cameras or cops on foot.We nned to have the right to carry a gun and shoot the sob. That is what the criminals have. Let me guess what type people these were? Anyone? Beuhler?
