Prince George's County Schools Superintendent William F. Hite has withdrawn the proposed options for the new Fairwood Elementary, according to a Prince George's County Schools news release. 

The options could have forced the closure of either Tulip Grove Elementary or Glenn Dale Elementary.

The community meeting set for Wednesday night at Bowie High School is cancelled and "no further action will be taken on this issue by the Board of Education."

A county schools spokesman had no further information.
