Local Man Arrested on Burglary, Drug Charges
Trevin Drew Coleman, 18, faces charges related to an October home burglary and drug distribution.
Based on tips from citizens, a police search of a Bowie man's home turned up stolen merchandise, drugs and drug paraphernalia, resulting in his arrest on charges of burglary and drug distribution.
Bowie police said they had received multiple citizen complaints that the suspect, Trevin Drew Coleman, 18, was selling drugs in the P section. Police ran Coleman’s name through the LInX crime database and found he had recently pawned jewelry inscribed with someone else’s name.
Officers reviewed recent burglary reports and found the name inscribed on the items matched the victim of an October burglary from the 1100 block of Pennypacker Lane. Police were able to obtain a search warrant for Coleman’s home.
Police executed the warrant on Coleman’s home in the 1100 block of Patriot Lane, where they found more jewelry from the October burglary. They also discovered 25 grams of marijuana packaged individually for sale and other paraphernalia.
Coleman was present during the search and went back to the station with police, where he admitted his involvement in the Pennypacker Lane burglary. Police charged him and are investigating his possible involvement in other burglaries.
