Gov. O’Malley to Attend Bowie National Night Out
The governor will join about 2,000 Bowie residents at the event on Tuesday night at Allen Pond Park.
Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley will join Bowie residents at Allen Pond Park tomorrow on Aug. 7 for their National Night Out Celebration.
National Night Out is a national event designed to raise community awareness of crime and crime prevention. Hosted by the Bowie Police Department, attendees will be treated to free ice cream and hot dogs along with safety demonstrations, information on Internet safety, voice printing and fingerprinting for kids, photo ops with Iron Man and more.
Bowie Police Chief John Nesky said the event, which will run from 6-8 p.m. tomorrow night, usually has about 1,500 to 2,000 participants in Bowie. O’Malley is expected to make his appearance at around 6:15 p.m.
The governor is expected at the Shady Side National Night Out at 7:45 p.m.
