Friday Morning Police Barricade Ends in Arrest

Prince George's County Police were able to take the suspect into custody without incident.

An armed man who allegedly fired several shots in a domestic dispute Friday was taken into custody by Prince George's County Police.

Police arrived on the scene in the early hours of July 27 in response to a domestic disturbance call. They discovered a suspect who refused to leave the home on the 15500 block of Orchard Run Dr.

Police found the suspect had a handgun, which they believe had been fired multiple times before police arrived, according to the report. Police established a barricade around the home. Prince George’s County Emergency Response Team responded and took charge of the investigation and eventually took the suspect into custody.

“Negotiators were able to talk him outside of the home and make an arrest without incident,” said Prince George’s County Police (PGPD) spokesman Cpl. Larry Johnson.

Johnson said that the home is the residence of a woman who is in a relationship with the suspect. The resident and her two minor daughters were home at the time of the shooting, but no one was injured.

The girls were ordered by police to remain locked in an upstairs room for the duration of the incident, but it was never considered a hostage situation, according to Johnson.

The name of the suspect has not been released.
