Editor's Corner: Officially Onboard
Jenni Pompi is officially the new associate local editor of Bowie Patch.
It has finally happened, folks—I’m the new editor of Bowie Patch.
Now, I know you’ve all become used to seeing my byline here on Bowie Patch over the past few months, but starting today, I’m “official.” I’ve got a laptop, passwords and about a dozen emails from the IT department.
How will my new official title change things for the loyal readers of Bowie Patch? Hopefully, not too much. I will still work to find stories that impact the city of Bowie and to report on issues that mean a lot to this community.
One of the biggest changes you’ll see is just me, all around town. I hope to run into you at Baysox games and productions at the Bowie Playhouse, or maybe grabbing lunch at the Old Bowie Town Grille or at a City Council meeting.
I hope you’ll help me keep our calendar full by adding your local events, and I also encourage you to post announcements on Bowie Patch as well to share your good news with your neighbors or to raise their awareness about local causes and charities.
As a personal blogger myself, I’m really looking forward to building a community of local voices here on Bowie Patch. You can sign up blog here now, or shoot me an email at Jenni.Pompi@patch.com and we can chat more about how you can best contribute.
If you see me sitting around a local cafe or coffee shop typing away on my laptop, please stop by and say, “Hi.” One of the things that excites me most about this job is meeting new people and learning new stories. I look forward to speaking in person with as many of you as possible and hearing about what you’d like to see from me and from Bowie Patch.
You have all been so kind over the past four months as I’ve been serving in a guest editing capacity, so I want to thank you for welcoming me into your city and into your community. I hope I can continue to make Bowie Patch your top source for local news.
