Doctor from Bowie Named Outstanding Physician Partner at AAMC

Dr. Adeeb Jaber of Bowie was given the honor for his care of patients and their families.

nurses recently picked the Parole hospital's Outstanding Physician Partner for the year, and this year selected a doctor from Bowie.

After compiling 1,000 votes from nurses, hospitalist Dr. Adeeb Jaber was bestowed the honor. The nurses were asked to nominate a physician they considered to be a role model who "collaborates and communicates for care," according to a release.

Jaber, who has been on the medical staff at AAMC since July 2008, had received dozens of touching nominations, officials said in the release.

“He is the epitome of what you expect from a physician—he reviews everything and is very attentive to patient and family concerns,” Sherry Perkins, AAMC chief nursing officer, said in the release. “He is a wonderful physician who really cares for his patients, as well as the nurses. He is respectful, knowledgeable, an educator—always looking out for the patient and family.”

Jaber of Bowie said that "AAMC is the best hospital I have worked at" since he became a doctor in 1998.

“I am quite honored to have recently been recognized by the nursing staff as being their best physician partner this year,” he said in the release.
