Bowie State Names New Professional Studies Dean

The move was effective Tuesday.

Dr. Jerome H. Schiele has been named new dean for the College of Professional Studies, the school announced Wednesday in a press release.

Schiele has previously worked at the University of Georgia, Clark Atlanta University, Norfolk State University, Morgan State University and SUNY at Stony Brook.

“I very much look forward to working with the students, faculty and staff at Bowie State and to help build on the outstanding tradition of the College of Professional Studies and the university,” Schiele said in the release.

The new dean earned a sociology degree from Hampton University and both a master’s and doctoral degree in social work from Howard University, the release stated.

Behavioral sciences and human services, nursing, psychology and social work are the four departments in the university’s College or Professional Studies, the release stated.
