My son had a HORRIBLE time with Bowie Elite. He was left on the bench for most of the games. The coach SCREAMED at me and WAVED his arms at me like I was a FLY when I tried to speak to him about it. OBVIOUSLY the adults in Elite have MAJOR anger issues. I still can't figure out if coach's problem is that we are white or that my son has no male figure representing him in the stands. The Coach SURE didn't talk to ANY OTHER MOTHER the way he spoke to me. HUGE waste of $175.

Good Afternoon,
As one of the coaches of the Bowie Elite 11U Team, I would like to rebut what Karen C. has placed in the initial comment above. First of all, the four coaches inclusive of the head coach have never screamed at any parent. In fact, I had a lengthy conversation with Karen about the make-up of the team, the coaching staff and how we were preparing the players for a more competitive brand of baseball in the Spring. Our team had a wide range of talent, and to be transparent the majority of the team has either played together or against each other on a regular basis since the ages of 5 or 6; coupled with the fact that within that base of players on the team, at least a half dozen players have participated on consecutive undefeated County championship baseball teams for the past 5 years. Now as for the subject of race; we had a multi-racial, multi-ethnic and as stated prior multi-talented group of players. Race had NO bearing on the interaction between the coaching staff and Ms. Karen C. All players were provided the opportunity to play in each and every game. Now factors that went into the amount of playing time were: frequency/attendance at practice; playing ability; familiarity with the game of baseball (i.e. rules).

Let me also point out that on at least two occasions, Ms. Karen C. wanted to pull her son from the dugout and take him home as she felt he was not getting the playing time he deserved; in addition to her son "quitting" in the middle of the season, and then returning to the team. I have been a member of this coaching staff for the last 5 years....what Karen C. has said is false, untrue and I believe an apology is certainly in order.
