After last month’s derecho knocked out power to Prince George’s Stadium and caused about $20,000 in damages, the Bowie Baysox had to postpone its inaugural Charity 5K and Kids Fun Run.

Fear not local runners and baseball fans because the run has been rescheduled for 8 a.m. Aug. 12. There is no need to re-register if you signed up for the July 1 run, but new runners and walkers can register online here until Aug. 10. Walk up registration on the day of the event also will be accepted.

Registration for the Baysox 5K is $30 and registration for the Kids Fun Run is $15. All proceeds will stay local, benefitting the Bowie Health Center, the Bowie Police Explorers and Louie’s Holiday Hope Project.
