Baysox Can't Hold Early Lead, Lose To Erie
Bowie drops 3-0 lead, and Erie rallies for 5-3 victory.
Bowie jumped out to an early three-run lead, but that wasn't enough as Erie rallied for a 5-3 victory Sunday afternoon.
The loss dropped Bowie to 15-15 on the season, but the Baysox remain tied for first place in the Eastern League's Western Division.
Bowie scored one run on an error in the third, and Adam Donachie's two-run single in the fourth made it 3-0. But Erie turned the game around with a four-run rally in the fifth, capped by Ben Guez's three-run homer off Steve Johnson (1-1).
The SeaWolves added an insurance run in the sixth, and that was enough. Bowie again had problems getting key hits as it went 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position.
