Belair Cooperative Nursery School Engages Current and New Parent Members
Belair Cooperative Nursery School Reaches Out to Parents
The Belair Cooperative Nursery School launched a series of activities to promote parent involvement in the curriculum and diversify the children’s learning experiences. All parents received a note from the Spanish instructor about the curriculum for the month, including students wearing the color of the week in order to engage as a group in learning their colors in Spanish. Also, all classes are taking yoga this year from Imagine Yoga, and the students learn a variety of poses and movements to improve their flexibility and strength. Ms. Karen Seppi roused all the classes with her amusing and educational music classes. Ms. Stephanie, Ms. Penny, and Ms. Dawn will a conduct a round of parent-teacher conferences with all the parents during January in order to provide assessments of the students’ accomplishments in key core areas of behavior, growth, and learning. Finally, BCNS also plans to hold open houses for new and prospective parents and students for the 3’s and Enrichment classes on February 5, 10-11am. BCNS’ Open House for the 4’s & 4/5’s classes will occur on February 6, 10-11 am. BCNS will be accepting applications for the 2013 – 2014 school year during those times as well.
